"Disappointed..had to return it." 2009-12-12
By Debra Jambor (Houston, TX)
The surface was not smooth. It had pitted spots on it. Had to return it. Not good quality 18/10. Could have done better at Bed Bath and Beyond or and Estate sale. Sorry.

"Very convenient pan; good value" 2008-11-09
By David Brukman (USA)
This pan is not quite as heavy as I like, but it works very well in the kitchen. It distributes heat well, the non-stick surface is sturdy (for such coatings--it still wears out), and the rounded inner surface (with no rivets) makes it very convenient to move the food. While many good pans have very sturdy handle attachments using rivets, the rivets make the food catch or stick--this pan avoids this problem.

"Cooks without the Stick (and it should)" 2007-12-22
By M. Heine (Grimes, IA)
My wife has been very happy with this pan since we purchased it about a month ago. The pan is well made and has a nice steel bottom that is heavy duty (unlike some other pans that are the same thickness at the top and bottom). My wife has been making some great omelets and it is the perfect size for that. I would recommend this pan, but can't comment on the longevity of it yet.

"Great Frying Pan replaced my old one" 2006-11-09
By R. Labonte
This frying pan replaced my old, chipped, rusting out(embarassed to say that, but you don't know me, anyway)and it even frys food but mostly it looks great. What can you say about a frying pan? I wouldn't have even given this reponse if I hadn't had a few glasses of wine. Seriously, it is a quality pan - without paying a fortune. I have purchased Innova before and am STICKING (in this case NON)with it. There's the wine making bad jokes again.

Helen Chen's Asian Kitchen Excalibur Nonstick 12-Inch Stir Fry Pan

Product By Harold Import Company, Inc.(18 customers reviews)
Lowest Price : $29.95
Product Description
The 12 inch Excalibur Non-Stick Stir-Fry Pan is a heavy weight at 2mm thickness of carbon steel. It is made for use on gas or electric burners and the pan's heavy weight carbon steel body is designed for rapid, even heating and cooling ¿ a must for any stir-fry. Its generous size will enable you to make delicious Asian meals for your entire family. This pan is perfect for creating such authentic Asian-style recipes as curried shrimp with lemon rice and Szechwan beef stir-fry. This pan features a Stay-cool Bakelite® handle and the flat bottom sits securely on stove tops. Excalibur® is a premium non-stick coating that is far superior to most nonsticks in the market. Its strength and long lasting durability is so important for the high - heat demands of stir fry cooking. The pan is first prepared by blasting it with an abrasive material to create a roughened surface. Then, white-hot molten stainless steel is applied to the surface and, when cooled, becomes welded to the pan. The permanent peaks and valleys that are formed provide a strong, tough base for two coats of a high-grade nonstick finish.

Amazon.com Review

Designed by Helen Chen, daughter of renowned Chinese food pioneer Joyce Chen, the Asian Kitchen Excalibur line of cookware helps bring Asian cooking into the Western home. Crafted from durable carbon steel with a 2 mm thickness, the cookware combines rugged construction with convenient non-stick coating, so food cooks traditionally but cleans up quickly. Named for their premium 2-layer non-stick coating, Excalibur pans feature secure riveted handles made of stay-cool Bakelite. Perfect for the rapid heating conditions of searing and stir-frying, they are safe for use on gas, electric, and induction stovetops.
This Excalibur stir-fry pan is a substantial cooking tool, suited to rapid cooking of meats, seafoods, and veggies. It features a flat bottom, steep sides, and a handle ring for hanging. Measuring 12 inches in diameter, it should be washed by hand for best results. A 14-inch version is also available. --Emily Bedard

"Helen Chen's stir fry" 2010-07-25
By Sandra D King
I bought this pan for my daughter's birthday and she loves it. She and her family love oriental food and she wanted to be able to make it at home instead of buying it out all the time. She has made stir fry and several other dishes with this pan. She was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the pan--it is great.

"Tired of non-stick pans." 2010-03-27
By Kevin Smith (Sunnyvale, CA United States)
Once tempered properly you can cook anything on this, with any utensil, without fear of ruining the surface. Having spent a fortune over the years on non-stick pans I decided to go back to what my mom and grandma cooked with. I've long since discovered the best way to destroy a non-stick pan is to get it really hot: which is how I like to color vegetables and meats. This pan is indestructible even with metal utensils (which I prefer). You can't put it in the dishwasher but you really shouldn't do that with non-stick either (read the fine print and most non-sticks should be hand washed). You should use a little fat each time (the same as non-sticks). If anything sticks, just let it set a little while, and the tempered surface will release it. This is the big change in using steel pans: ingredients stick and then release. Be patient and you'll get the hang of it. Beware though: this pan is very heavy. It is so heavy that my wife is hesitant to use it. I don't blame her but I put up with it. I'm sure a grandkid will inherit this pan: it's that durable.

"Nice pans" 2009-10-14
By G. Nolan (Out there!)
These are very nicely built pans. Very heavy duty and would certainly take out any intruder entering my home. Really, these are great pans and they really do create a nice non-toxic non-stick cooking surface.

"Could use a little work" 2009-02-25
By Jolyan Devens (arlington, va United States)
This is a fantastic pan. Heats nicley and evenly but could use some work in the handle department; it's a bit skinny for such a hefty device.

"Grey Steel Sauté Pan" 2008-02-09
By Malcolm S. Low (Concord, California)
Wonderful pan! It works very much in the same as a cast iron pan. This will remind you that it's heavy. I bought two of them, a 10 inch and 12 inch. The 12 inch was just too heavy, so I gave it away. Now, after several months of use, my 10 inch pan is well seasoned and is great favourite. You'll still need strong arms to make proper use of one of these, however,

"Cuissinart Chef's Classic 14-inch skillet" 2010-09-10
By Peter W. Van Derpas
Bought this skillet on an impulse buy while on vacation in Boulder CO, not thinking what a hassle it would be to pack for the plane. Got it home and made paiella and it worked great. Even heat over two gas burners. Just a light crustiness to the rice. Very impressed. Next night I used it for stir fry. This worked great as well. I don't know how I made do all these years without a 14" skillet. And such a bargain! This big pan cost less than Cusinart's smaller pans and it does so much more.

"great skillet - healthy for you too ---" 2010-08-01
By DADDY (TEXAS)
if your tired of not having enough room in the skillet, this is for you .... if you need a lid ..... a) the glass lid to the 14" cuisinart stir-fry works ok and you can see thru it ... it does no fit perfectly and it sits a little low, but it works fine if the skillet is not piled too high .... or b) get a 16" aluminum pizza pan ... to bad they dont make a glass lid to come with it that is a perfect fit ... i am so tired of wondering where all those MISSING pieces of "tefflon" went that i use nothing but stainless now .... and it does take a little more effort to keep it clean if you want to try and keep it looking like new ... but if you just want it CLEAN .... soak it 20 minutes, then wash it out ... you can even put it in the dishwasher without worrying about scratching the tefflon ...

"Cuisinart Chef's Classic Stainless - Functional and Durable" 2010-07-29
By Sunny324 (Grand Rapids, MI USA)
I purchased the 10 inch open skillet, 6 - quart sauce pot, 12 inch every day pan, and 3 quart chef's pan from the Cuisinart Chef's Classic Stainless line. I believe that these are about all the pans you really need for a typical kitchen, along with perhaps a smaller pot and a small non-stick pan for eggs. I have been using these pots and pans for a few months, and I am enjoying using them. Not to mention that you can't beat the price for this kind of quality cookware. I feel that these pans will last for a very long time.

I love Cuisinart cookwear. This pan is just the right size for fry eggs or make small stuffs. The 8 inches pan.

"very large - just what I needed" 2010-07-18
By S. Brooks
This is a VERY large pan. That being said, I have found it to be a great time saver for me. I can make up to five small pancakes in it, or finish things like sauces and potatoes very quickly to name a few recent things that have been in the pan. If there is any stuck on food say from something like potatoes with onions and garlic, I just soak it on low for a few minutes and it cleans up very nicely. In fact I seem to need very little oil for cooking things that might normally stick. When heated I can turn the pan down to medium and it holds the heat very nicely. I'm very pleased with my purchase from Warehouse Deals on Amazon.

"very good product" 2010-09-11
By ms (NJ)
This is olne of the best frying pans I have ever used, Cooks food evenly, heats fast, and cleans like a dream. I have seared meats in it and the stuck on residue comes off easily with minimum scrubbing.
I have Two complaints:
The handle constantly needs tightening.
The knob in the middle of the glass lid is mounted on a metal ring. This ring gets very hot, and, when lifting lid, fingers can get burned by this ring, as I found out the hard way.

"Amazon was worse than the pan" 2010-05-14
By G. Wolff (st. pete)
A perfectly good steel pan at the price except the handle broke while cooking. Amazon replaced it but then sent conflicting messages. The first said throw the old one out, your replacement is free. OK, done. Then I started getting messages to return the old one or I would be charged for two pans. My emails to Amazon were not answered. Finally I found a number for a real human who apparently saw the contradictory emails and let me off the hook. A lot of hassle from Amazon for nothing.

"The handle easily got loose!" 2010-02-01
By Joan Nuttle
I purchased this item last Nov. 6 2009. And yesterday was Jan. 30, 2010. The handle got loose now. I dont know how to tighten it. It easily gets clean and neat after I wash with soap and put a little bit of Crema Brite on it to make it shiny and flawless. I think that is the only disadavantage, the handle! Overall, I am not really very satisfied. I wish I can return it for free but I have to pay for the shipping and so so. I dont like to spend another dime for returning it.
